1.  What should MaR/C do for YOU in 2024?
Please take a few minutes and click HERE to send us a note.
What do you think of our monthly meetings, Scale Meet, Fun Fly, and Warbird fly-in?  What do you want more of?  Less of?  Suggest some activities!  Do you want more swap meets, at the field or at meetings?  How do you think we should reach out to the community to attract new members?

2.  AMA requires us to have a Safety Officer on the board of directors.   Guillaume Simonnet, recently elected to the Board, has graciously been arm-twisted into this role for 2024.  Last year we benefited from Bill Mears leadership in this role, but he sadly had to move to California.  You may not have been aware of the Safety Officer because they are not some kind of cop or hall monitor.  (That job actually belongs to all of us.)  Safety Officers live more in the background and do what they can to help people build and operate their planes safely by providing good information, and generally helping to maintain a safety culture in the club.  Guillaume is super nice and knowledgeable, so please welcome him, and ask him for advice when you need it.

3.  No December Club meeting.
As you may recall we had the holiday dinner last week instead of our regular club meeting in December.  The dinner was fun, with about 25 of us visiting and enjoying the food at BJ’s.  We presented an **award to BRIAN BURK** in appreciation of his years of managing and making significant improvements to the summer training program.  And we look forward to our new Board member Richard Machin’s future leadership.

4.  Our January meeting will be about your transmitter and receiver’s Useful Stuff to keep you Safe.  It's a surprisingly long list!   And a Swap Meet, show and tell, coffee, cookies, and probably a raffle.

NOTE!

  • The meeting will be in our OLD location, the Lake Washington School District Board Room in Redmond Town Center.  (For those who have not attended a club meeting there yet, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the facility is.)

  • It is on a DIFFERENT DAY.   Just this once, it will be on a WEDNESDAY, January 17 from 7:00-9:00.  Note also we are going back to the old time.

After that we’ll return to our regular third Thursday of the month from 7-9 o’clock, and stay at the Lake Washington School District Board Room in Redmond Town Center.

5.  The long-awaited field improvement construction project has been making slow but steady progress.  We hope to break ground in a month or two!  Stand by for more news as things begin to take shape.  With a little luck we’ll have our beautiful new facility this spring.

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors,

Merry and Happy Holidays!!  And Happy Landings too.
