Warbird Memorial Fly- in May 20th

Marymoor R/C club will be hosting a Warbird Fly-in featuring WW2 aircraft and EDF jets on Saturday May 20th. The club has invited several Veterans from the local retirement community to attend. We encourage the youth to participate by bringing out their EDF jets and warbirds. There will be several tandem flights throughout the day showcasing the various airplanes and their flight characteristics. There will also be a table set up for static model display so feel free to bring out your airplanes to display. Families are encouraged to attend and lunch will be provided.

We will go ahead with this meeting for all instructors and helpers even though the weather forecast is a little wet.

Saturday, April 22 (TOMORROW!).   9:00 am   at the Field.

We'll meet under the charging shelter to go over "Notes for Instructors" and trade ideas for teaching technique.  This is to get the best ideas from everyone, and use them.  I will have paper handouts available.

After about 3:30 today (Friday), you should be able to look at "Notes for Instructors" under the Training and Education pull-down menu on our website.

Flight Instructors Needed

May is fast approaching and we are getting ready to gear up for our Summer Flight Training! The club is looking for volunteers so if you're a skilled pilot and are available Tuesday evenings, consider signing up to teach others the love of R/C flying! Ideally, the club needs 7-10 instructors. This will allow instructors to spread out the time commitment to everyone involved. We typically have 5 instructors each Tuesday but it would be nice to have an additional instructor to give breaks throughout the evening.

The "Festival of Color" event will happen at Marymoor tomorrow, 12:00-5:00.  Very heavy attendance and traffic is expected, so our parking lot might be impacted at that time.

Our swap meet begins officially at 9:00 am.  As with all swap meets, if you want to make or find the best deals it pays to be early.  There is nothing preventing folks from showing up earlier, and I'll bet many will.

So, there you have it.  Two reasons to be early.

See you tomorrow,

- BK1

Hi Everyone,

Please Renew:

If you have not already done so, please renew your membership so that you are all set to start flying when the mood strikes.  We usually get some good weather in April as soon as the March storms are done, so this is a good time to do it.  Also, you'll get a free MAR/C sticker with our logo.

Swap Meet:

Spring Swap Meet coming up!

The Marymoor R/C club will be having a Swap Meet and Fun Fly on Saturday March 18th. The swap meet is open to the general public from 9-2 and all are welcome to bring airplanes/helis and R/C related items to sell. Swap meet will be located in the grassy area between the parking lot and the flying field. The field will be open to anyone for flying with a current AMA membership. Lets hope for great weather!

Transmitter Programming Links

Hi All,

At last night's meeting, the topic was programming your transmitter to make flying easier and more fun, including use of Flight Modes.

Whether you attended or not, these links may be of interest.  The first two are available on our website in the Training and Education pull-down menu.
