The date for the all-instructor's meeting and new instructor clinic has changed from this Saturday April 8 to:
Saturday April 22, 9:00-12:00, at the field.
May is fast approaching and we are getting ready to gear up for our Summer Flight Training! The club is looking for volunteers so if you're a skilled pilot and are available Tuesday evenings, consider signing up to teach others the love of R/C flying! Ideally, the club needs 7-10 instructors. This will allow instructors to spread out the time commitment to everyone involved. We typically have 5 instructors each Tuesday but it would be nice to have an additional instructor to give breaks throughout the evening. Last year we had a huge demand for flight instruction and we plan on keeping it to 15 students per week (3 students per instructor).
We will be having a kickoff meeting for all instructors followed by a training clinic for new instructors on Saturday April 22nd, weather permitting, with an alternate on April 29th. If you're interested or have instructed in the past and plan to do so this year, please send an E-mail to Chris Randall: chris.randall411@gmail.com with your contact info including email address and cell number. I will be coordinating with Brian Burke to send out further information on the instructor training day and how to use the Sign Up Genius website to help coordinate the number of instructors needed. If you don't feel you have the skills to instruct but would still like to help out, we could use 1-2 people to help with checking in students, charging batteries, setting up drinks and snacks, etc. Thanks and lets help make it a successful training season!
