Tribute to Everett Dixon

Recently we lost a member of our community who added a lot not only to the lives of others, but to our club for many years.

MAR/C member Everett Allen Dixon died on March 25, 2021.  He was born on July 19, 1930 and was 90 years old.  Everett was liked by everyone.  He was a long time MAR/C board member holding various positions including Vice President.  One time he decided to not run for re-election but missed being on the board so much that he ran for the board the following year and was elected.  He was Flight Training Manager and Field Manager often managing both at the same time. He spent a lot of time at the field and flew occasionally .

He liked to build true model airplanes kits, not ARF’s, and was a good at it.  He ran the coffee bar at the Redmond Senior Center several days in the morning.  The Redmond Senior Center used to have an Antique Car and Model Airplane show every year and Everett made sure that club members brought models to support the show.

Everett served in the U.S. Navy and later was a supervisor at Boeing for many tears. An impressive Navy service was held for him at the Tahoma National Veterans cemetery. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Douglas and daughter Karen.
