The following items should be checked on a regular basis prior to each flight date. It would also be wise to check them at the end of each flight date so there are no surprises when you go to fly again.
- All batteries charged for at least 12 hours and verified to be charged prior to 1st flight.
- Propeller and spinner secure.
- Engine is securely bolted on.
- All control horns and hinges secure.
- Nose wheel straight.
- Rubber band quantity and installation - Do not reuse rubber bands.
- Check balance - no fuel- do not fly a tail-heavy aircraft.
- Name, address, and AMA number inside aircraft.
- Check servos are mounted securely and wires are clear of all moving control arms.
- Check to ensure your fuel can has a sufficient amount for flying time at field.
- Ensure all clevis pins have a small retainer to keep them closed. (A small piece of fuel line works
great.)
